THE POKANOKET TRIBE BELIEVE AND LIVE BY A FUNDAMENTAL RULE: THE STRONGER MUST CARE FOR THE WEAKER. THEY ARE TO TEACH BY EXAMPLE THE NEXT SEVEN GENERATIONS THE WAYS OF YESHUA THROUGH STORYTELLING. WHEN EACH GENERATION DOES SO, THE TEACHING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL HE RETURNS AND BRINGS US INTO HIS GLORY.

Kepenum Nepauzshad (Harvest Moon), a modern-day Pokanoket Clan Mother and storyteller, tells a story of the time prior to European contact. This was the time of her great-grandmother twelve times over, also a storyteller, Ukquonokquot Ayeateanen (Rainbow Warror). Painting the story of their past, of the events that impacted their community then and continue to impact them, helps to improve their future.
