Curls and Souls explores relationships through their various stages-the beginning, the middle, and the end. It draws a parallel between a young woman's journey of growing, styling, and ultimately embracing her natural hair and the different phases of relationships. The poetry is written in a clear, yet raw manner drawing you in and causing you to take a look at who you really are. The goal is to show that just like the frustrating process of learning to love your hair, you will be able to find the beauty in loving yourself after heartbreak.
